Please send files to us in PDF format. If you send a different file type, Orthelia will not process the request and you will not be charged.

Yes! Orthelia will take any raw PDF and will perform the OCR step if this has not already been done. However, for some situations (e.g. a poor quality input document) you may prefer to perform the OCR step yourself and check the content before submitting to Orthelia. Try both methods to see which works best for you.

Orthelia will identify tables that have a column header.
It does not detect what are classed as a listing of key value pairs. These are listings which only have two columns and no column header.

Orthelia will be 100% accurate 95%-99% of the time.
When we send a database (xls) back to you, we will include the original table image alongside the table so that you can spot and correct any errors. Lower quality documents produce more variable results. For example, a fax of an original document will be more problematic than a clean PDF.

If a table spans a page, then Orthelia will return you a separate table for each page.
Handling of page breaks is included in our our enterprise edition at Semantic Evolution.

Orthelia will email you the results in Excel (human readable) format.
We will soon be releasing an API which will enable you to request a machine-readable format such as JSON or XML.
If you would like to receive data in other formats, or have mapping and translation requirements, please review our Enterprise edition at Semantic Evolution.

No. Documents are temporarily held during processing. Once the database is sent back to you, the source document is deleted.

Orthelia will always reply, even if there is an error in the processing of the document (which you will be notified of).
Orthelia will only debit your account once the document has been processed and you have an email with the results.
If you have a transaction showing for the document but do not have an email, please check your junk folder.
If your company blocks large attachments or has a strict email policy, please check with them.
If you still cannot find the email, please contact us.

No. Orthelia will only process documents that it has access to.
